DYAD Reading

This program changes students’ lives

Early reading help is shown to be one of the best ways to help a student in their life. Students are selected for DYAD Reading based on their reading level and need.

What is DYAD?

We use a teaching tool called DYAD. DYAD is a fluency and comprehension strategy used with readers that are testing below grade level. Adults are paired with struggling readers to provide a model of correct reading intonation, pronunciation, tone and expression while reading.

How can I help?

We are asking for volunteers to come in once or twice a week for one hour each time. Each visit you’ll be paired with two students that need extra help in reading and comprehension. You’ll meet with the same two students weekly and be able to see their progress throughout the year. The program has shown to help students throughout their life. It is such an important way to give back to young readers.
